<p>Some pit bulls get a bad reputation because a few of them are trained to fight or protect aggressively, which makes everyone think all pit bulls are like that.</p>

<h3 class="cus-heading-3">Meet Bridget and Louie, two pit bulls left at a shelter without anyone knowing why, feeling as sad as the dark corner they stayed in.</h3>
<p>“It seemed all they had was each other. They needed to learn what love felt like. I wanted to be the one to teach them,” Minda Harris told The Dodo about the strong connection she felt with the pair right away.</p>

<h3 class="cus-heading-3">Minda and her husband acted quickly without any doubts; they hurried to the shelter to take care of Bridget and Louie, excited to give them a caring place to stay.</h3>
<p>While Bridget settled in easily, making herself comfortable on the couch like she belonged there, Louie stayed hesitant and uncertain, sticking close to his sister for comfort and protection.</p>

<h3 class="cus-heading-3">Even though they were unsure at first, both dogs started to feel more comfortable and got used to living in a home.</h3>
<p>Minda taught them everything from simple commands to getting used to sleeping in a crate, helping them adjust to their new life in a caring home.</p>
<p>Especially Louie, who always stayed close to Bridget, even sleeping in her crate, showing how strong their bond was.</p>

<h3 class="cus-heading-3">The big change happened when Bridget and Louie met Minda&#8217;s other dogs.</h3>
<p>The happiness of meeting new friends seemed to erase any leftover worries from their past.</p>
<p>“It was amazing how much they opened up by just being in a home,” Minda watched closely, seeing their changes happening right in front of her.</p>

<h3 class="cus-heading-3">As they got used to their new life, Bridget and Louie stayed strongly attached to each other.</h3>
<p>Whether they were playing outside or cuddling on the couch, they always did things together, proving how much they cared for each other and supported one another.</p>

<p>When it was time for them to find a permanent home, Minda was certain they couldn&#8217;t be separated.</p>
<p>Monica, who had been watching their progress for months, was just the right fit.</p>
<h3 class="cus-heading-3">With mixed feelings of happiness and sadness, Minda and her husband set off on the trip to take Bridget and Louie to their forever home in San Diego.</h3>

<p>“When you foster, it’s never easy to let go,” Minda shared, thinking about the mix of happy and sad feelings as they said goodbye.</p>
<p>But knowing Monica was perfect for Bridget and Louie made it easier to say goodbye.</p>

<p>Nowadays, Bridget and Louie are doing really well with Monica.</p>
<p>Louie used to be shy, but now he&#8217;s lively and full of energy, while Bridget still loves lounging on the couch and looking out for her brother.</p>
<p>They still stick together all the time, showing how their journey from being scared to being happy has made them even closer.</p>
